San Francisco Bay Area Chapter

Our Mentoring program works tirelessly to connect women in all stages of their careers to learn from and teach each other. The small mentor groups curated by the Mentorship Committee fosters these connections. The Mentoring Committee provides trainings for “mentors” on how to really dig into their roles both as teacher and student, and helps find opportunities for “mentees” to learn from and connect with women who have more experience and want to share. The mentorship events range from simple opportunities for connection to more formal trainings. The Mentoring program helps build meaningful relationships that benefit participants both professionally and personally.

The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter is led by a small, but dedicated group of women hoping to grow our community of women working together to lift each other up as we climb in our careers, personal lives, and understanding of the ever changing/growing environmental field.

Our Networking program seeks out new and different opportunities for women to connect with each other on personal and professional levels in an environment that feels comfortable and free of the oppressive notion of what “networking” is supposed to be. The networking events provide opportunities for women to connect in meaningful ways without the transactional or exploitive component so often presumed to be a requirement for expanding one’s network. From Happy Hours to chocolate tastings, the Networking events always strive to provide something fun, interesting, and inclusive for everyone.

Our Professional Development program provides women opportunities to learn more and connect with experts on a wide range of topics within the environmental, personal development, career development fields. The Professional Development Committee hosts events with diverse voices and perspectives from specific subject matter experts, community organizations, and regulatory agencies on topics that matter to our community including Environmental Justice, wildfires, community engagement in the environmental sciences, investment in green tech, and sea level rise, just to name a few.
