Networking.
WIE typically hosts three networking events each year (spring, summer, and autumn) in each geography. Our welcoming and friendly events are held in the offices of our sponsors. Networking events provide opportunities for WIE members to come together, enjoy hors d'oeuvres and drinks, and have conversations with other professionals in the environmental field. Education.
As part of the Krista Koehl Professional Development Series, WIE hosts two to three education events per year in each geography. Education events aim to enhance career, communication, and leadership skills for women at all levels of their careers. They are presented as either a panel of speakers or as workshops designed to engage, provide technical and educational opportunities, and offer tools for personal and professional development. Mentoring.
Mentoring typically consists of one to two mentors and a small group of mentees. Mentoring groups are self-directed and tailored to the needs of its members. Discussion topics may include, but are not limited to: career planning, navigating work cultures, confidence building, assertive communication, networking, and project management.
