About Our Event

The Portland Professional Development Committee invites you to attend our annual virtual technical talk on microplastics. Join us as we learn about the state of the science and regulatory progress pertaining to microplastics as a contaminant of emerging concern from some of the Pacific Northwest’s leading scientists. This event is free to all environmental professionals.

Our panel of experts will provide information on the current knowledge of microplastics contamination and focus on 1) the presence of microplastics in the environment, 2) what is known regarding adverse effects of microplastics as well as gaps in knowledge and 3) recent actions/regulatory framework for microplastics established in California, as well as some initial regulatory progress being made in the Pacific Northwest.

This event will be hosted on Zoom. Registrants will receive information on how to access the Zoom event the day before and of.
