WIE Puget Sound is pleased to present an evening discussion on Climate Impacts in Washington: Projections, Preparation, and Adaptation led by Dr. Susan Dickerson-Lange, Director of the UW Climate Impacts Group.
About Dr. Dickerson-Lange:
Dr. Susan Dickerson-Lange is the Director of the University of Washington Climate Impacts Group, which builds climate resilience by advancing understanding of climate risks and enabling science-based action to manage those risks. Susan’s professional background includes applied research, environmental consulting, organizational development, and convening collaborations with stakeholders across sectors. Her areas of expertise are hydrology and geomorphology, and she is currently an affiliate assistant professor in the UW Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Licensed Hydrogeologist in Washington state. Susan is passionate about watershed science and co-creating climate adaptation strategies with community partners. She holds a PhD in Hydrology from UW and degrees in Geology from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and Western Washington University. Before joining the Climate Impacts Group in 2025, she served as Principal Hydrologist at Natural Systems Design, a Washington-based environmental consulting firm, where she worked with community partners and led teams to develop restoration projects and resilience strategies.

How do I find Ballard Spahr's office?
You can enter directly through the building lobby or through the Russell Investments Center garage elevators to the lobby. Take the elevator to the 17th floor. Note that the front doors to the building are locked starting at 6 PM, however, security can allow visitors afterhours access.
Is there on-site parking?
Yes, although it is not validated ($10 afterhours). Self-parking at the Russell Investments Center Parking Garage is located on Union Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue. To enter, take a left from 1st Ave to Union Street and enter the garage through the far-right lane.
What are my public transit options?
The Symphony Station is the nearest light rail station. Popular bus routes run along 3rd, Pike and Union.
